My son's second soccer game was today. They played so well! They didn't win... but it was a very close game, with the final score being 5 to 4. Brandon scored one goal from a corner kick, which got the team the lead and got everyone excited. He assisted with a couple of the other goals too. It was a great game... and a great morning!

I'm looking at an old painting of mine... something I did about 20 years ago... and haven't even looked at for about a half-dozen.

I hold it up to the light... illuminated from behind the canvas... and it glows.

Bright flames of cadmium red oil paint, stretched across canvas with a palette knife.

I have to capture at least part of the scene... so I zero in on a small portion of the top-left-corner... and snap and capture the moment.

I have to pack... but don't have the energy.

I have to hit the road at 4:30 in the morning... but right now I can't even stand.

I'm stuck on the couch... with my dog sitting next to me, keeping lookout.

All I can manage for a "366 Photo" today is a quick shot with my iPhone... without even looking to see what it captures. And here it is...

Just a simple shot... of the only thing that caught my eye today: a necklace I had made for me by a street vendor in Manhattan.

A worn-out crucifix... a Holy Spirit medal... and a double-sided Frida Kahlo charm. One side is her "Self Portrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird"... and the other, shown here - is her "Self Portrait as a Wounded Deer".

Just a simple shot... of something not so simple to explain.

Today I heard the most awesome news...

The single most important news of 2012!

Today it was announced that my all-time favorite film...

a film I watch an average of 2.5 times per week...

a film I've literally watched several THOUSAND times...

a film I know every line to...

a film I personally feel is the most "perfect" film ever made...

"JAWS"...

is FINALLY going to be released on High-Definition Blu-Ray this coming August!

I've been waiting and waiting and waiting for this day for years!!!

I'm so happy - I'm going to explode!

So... to celebrate, today's shot is of my Amity Police patch on my leather jacket.

Just a quick shot... hand-held... ISO 100... Spot-metered... 600mm... f/5.2 for 1/640th-second with a -1/3 exposure compensation.

Not technically great... but I'm pretty happy with it as a first "test shot".

Last day of our daughter's Dance Competitions for 2012.

Today she had several group numbers... and two solos.

The group numbers all took Gold or higher... with one of them - the Large Group Production number - earned a High Gold, a special award for their Kick-Line... and First Place overall.

Her two solos also earned Gold or higher. Her Lyrical Solo earned a Gold... and was First-Runner-Up (Second Place) Overall. Her Jazz Dance Solo - which today's photo is from - earned a High Gold and First Place Overall.

It has been a long - but very wonderful day...

and now it's time to relax and recover!
