January 28, 2012 - "Self Portrait in the Sunlight"
Today has been a long day. A very, VERY long day!
Up and out-of-bed waaaaay before 6AM.
On the road heading to Rhode Island well before the sun woke up.
Three hour drive.
Ten hours of dance competition for my daughter.
Amazing dancing... and she did a wonderful job! Her jazz-dance solo earned a High Gold... her lyrical-dance solo earned a Platinum. She was also First-Runner-Up/Second-Place in the Overall Competition for her age group. Two of her five group dances earned High Gold... Two earned Platinum... and one earned a High Platinum.
Amazing dances!
A bit of shopping... then an incredible dinner.
Long drive home while listening to 80s tunes.
Sleepy-eyed arrival so late at night that it was early the following morning.
Hard-hitting-collapse-on-the-bed = end of a wonderful day.
And the photo? Taken in the Men's Room at East Providence High School... where the sunlight coming through the window was so bright, I just couldn't let the moment slip by without capturing it!
