I love old suitcases.

I don't know why... maybe it's the story that clings to them... the knowledge of far-off places... the dreams they've carried.

Maybe it's some sort of nostalgic idea of traveling... of life On the Road.

I don't know. I just love old suitcases.

These two are gems that I found yesterday at a tag sale for $5 each.

One, a simple brown case with a monogram M.E.R. under the handle (which Holly says is very cool, because "Mer" is "Ocean" in French).

The other, a large black case... very reminiscent of George Bailey's boat of a travel case given to him by Mr. Gower in "It's A Wonderful Life".

Two old suitcase...

Two dreams...

Two possibilities...

And a sudden desire to hit the road, heading for someplace I've never been before.

Food is good... but not nearly as good as I remember it being.

Head to the Red Rooster Drive-In...
